Creation of Cell
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) was started in the year 2018 with the object of promoting specialized knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development. IDEA TO IMPLEMENTATION. The aim of Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) is to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial qualities in the budding professionals who are interested in starting their own ventures. The purpose of the cell is to identify, inculcate, nurture, prepare and develop the student entrepreneur from "Job seeker to Job creator". The EDC also assists all the aspirants with mentoring, planning and execution of their start up idea into a real business. Aspiring engineer entrepreneurs are groomed with the necessary inputs on how to be a successful entrepreneur through workshops and seminars by eminent people from the industry.
Objectives
- To act as an institutional mechanism for providing various services including information to budding student entrepreneurs.
- To provide an opportunity for the personal development of students.
- To create entrepreneurial spirit and culture in students and campus
- To foster better linkages between our Institution, Industries and R&D institutions and other related organizations engaged in promoting Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) including NGOs and other Voluntary Organizations and software companies.
- To enhance the skills, talents and abilities of students through different programs.
- To promote employment opportunities according to the resources, creativity and abilities of students.
- To encourage internships.
- To motivate students to become entrepreneurs.
- To encourage innovative ideas, risk taking and self employment.
Activities:
- 1. To organize Entrepreneurship Awareness sessions, hands on experience and Entrepreneurship Development Programmes.
- 2. To guide and assist prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support systems and information on various technologies
- 3. To organize guest lectures on business management and IT, TV & Radio talks, Seminars, etc. for promotion and growth of technology-based entrepreneurship.
- 4. To arrange visits to industries.
- 5. To extend necessary guidance and escort services to the trainees in obtaining approval and execution of their projects.
- 6. To act as a Information Centre on business opportunities, processes, technologies, market, etc. by creating and maintaining relevant databases.
- 7. To conduct skill development training programmes leading to self/wage employment.
